About three years ago a wonderful friend (who shall remain nameless) and I were bitching and moaning about the perils of aging, including the overnight onset of wrinkles. Not to be outdone by her whinging about her wrinkles I pointed to the crease running across the center of my forehead. “Oooooh yes”, she said, peering closer. “You really should get that seen to!”. Ouch! Now I’ve got to be honest, I did contact Jarrod Little to see what options I had when it came to wrinkle removal cosmetic procedures, but I just don’t have the courage to fight the stigma attached to such things. I wish I did because I’m sure I’d look much better for it and wouldn’t have to keep dealing with rude comments like those, but I guess that serves me right for pointing it out in the first place! We will all age and there isn’t much that can be done about it. Saying that though, there are clinics like the victorian cosmetic institute that offer treatments that could help reduce the signs of aging and improve the appearance of deep-set wrinkles.
Where some people may decide to get botox to tighten the skin, others may stick to using skincare products to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. With that being said, if this is something that you can relate to, it may be worth it to click here to take a look at some skincare products that could help with this concern. When it comes to skincare, it is hit or miss. Even if something works for one person, doesn’t mean it has the same effect for everyone else. But you don’t know if you don’t try.
Back then, at the ripe ‘old age’ of 35, I wasn’t prepared to whip out and get Botox at lunchtime (I’m still not, for the record) however, I did boost it straight to the nearest pharmacy to investigate anti-wrinkle solutions. A friend of mine did recommend I tried products such as nad plus anti aging formula, as this is said to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and potentially slowing down the aging process which is what I was looking for. This was something I added to my list of things to try. Fast forward now: I’m now a devotee of age-defying lotions and potions and my beauty dollar is being invested here more than I’d like to admit. So, I was rapt recently when I stumbled upon an anti-wrinkle product that saw my skin looking firmer and more youthful and – here’s the good bit – didn’t require a second mortgage. Introducing Avon’s Anew Clinical Pro Line Corrector Hydrating Cream with A-F33 (geez, that’s a mouthful…).
My local Avon lady, Lynn, from Lynn’s Beauty Shop, kindly sent me a sample tube of this wrinkle-defying goodness, along with a few other makeup goodies (I’ll review the makeup soon). I was rapt to get a sample as I’d heard that the Anew Clinical range had gone off like Mum’s undies in the UK***. Short story: I’m super impressed! Up till then, I’d been using Estee Lauder’s highly acclaimed Advanced Night Repair Synchronised Recovery II (which comes with a hefty price tag). But – HURRAY: I reckon this Avon number is as good as Estee’s: At a fraction of the price. Oh, why doesn’t this happen more often?!
Lynn’s tester has long since run out but, bingo, right before Christmas, The Beauty Review website had a big sale and I was able to get a tube for free by redeeming some beauty points I’d accumulated by diligently reviewing beauty products. Score!
Avon’s marketing team say this product is a ‘lightweight cream formulated with patented A-F33 to help fight fine and deep wrinkles’. I’d wholeheartedly agree. Actually I’d go as far as to say I’ve not only slowed the aging process down a little, I reckon I might even have wound the clock back an incy-wincy bit. I’m positive that it immediately plumps out my fine lines and wrinkles, yes, including The Line. It also leaves my skin lovely and soft. I’m such a happy punter I’ll be buying more when this tube runs out and I’m also turning my eyes towards the rest of the range when my current anti-wrinkle eye cream and night cream are down to the dregs. I’m also going to get the A-F33 serum. Sorry ’bout that Estee!
So, where does this fit in with my beauty regime you might ask? I use this as a moisturiser morning and night on my face, neck and decolletage right after cleansing and toning. I can confirm Avon’s spiel, it is indeed a lightweight cream. Better still, it has a non-greasy formula that my oily pores don’t object to and it works just fine as a base with a full face of makeup on top.
Enough of me, here’s what Avon have to say about the A-F33 (Amino-Fill 33): An innovative anti-ageing molecule that has proven results. When tested, 100 per cent of women showed a reduction of fine lines in two weeks, delivering breakthrough results that are revolutionising anti-ageing skin care.
Awesome Avon, a job well done.
Incidentally, what’s with these super-duper long tounge-twisting product names for anti wrinkle creams? I reckon there’s a gap in the market for a product called ‘Zap those Wrinkles’. That’s basically what we want to hear, right?
Where to buy: From your local Avon representative. Click here to find one. If you are in Hawke’s Bay, get in touch with Lynn via email.
Price: NZ$55 – you can often buy one A-F333 product and get another one for free (e.g. the eye treatment cream which is priced at $45).
* For transparency – the original sample was kindly sent to me to review by Lynn my local lovely Avon lady. I did go on to ‘buy’ my own product (albeit it was free as I redeemed beauty points, minor detail).
** Disclaimer: I take no responsibility if you try this product and you have a reaction/dislike the product. Thought I’d better get that out of the way!
*** Here’s the article I read about the A-F33 range going off like Mum’s undies.
